→ How does it work?
Cosmelan® Depigmentation Treatment is a two step procedure. The process is initiated with Cosmelan 1, Cosmelan 1, an office based treatment which is left on the skin for 5-8 hours, depending on the severity of pigmentation. This office based portion aggressively reduces pigmented blemishes. This procedure prepares the skin for Cosmelan 2, the home-based portion of the treatment. This second and on-going phase of the treatment ensures the permanence of the initial depigmentation treatment.
→ Is the home-based Cosmelan 2 necessary?
The second phase of the Cosmelan® treatment consist of a home maintenance cream Cosmelan 2® with the intention of securing the depigmentation. This product helps block the sun and ensures that the UV rays do not continue aggravating unwanted cutaneuos hyper pigmentation. This Cosmelan 2® cream should be applied 2 times per day during the first two weeks, and once a day from the third week on. For optimum results we recommend that the Cosmelan 2 be continued for a full 12 months.
→ What side effects can I expect?
